A Woman recounts her Heart Attack

A WOMAN RECOUNTS HER HEART ATTACK

‘I had a heart attack at about 10:30PM with NO prior exertion, NO prior emotional trauma that one would suspect might have brought it on. I was sitting all snugly & warm on a cold evening, with my purring cat in my lap, reading an interesting story my friend ha d sent me, and actually thinking, ‘A-A-h, this is the life, all cozy and warm in my soft, cushy Lazy Boy with my feet propped up.

A moment later, I felt that awful sensation of indigestion, when you’ve been in a hurry and grabbed a bite of sandwich and washed it down with a dash of water, and that hurried bite seems to feel like you’ve swallowed a golf ball going down the esophagus in slow motion and it is most uncomfortable. You realize you shouldn’t have gulped it down so fast and needed to chew it more thoroughly and this time drink a glass of water to hasten its progress down to the stomach. This was my initial sensation–the only trouble was that I hadn’t taken a bite of anything since about 5:00p.m.

After it seemed to subside, the next sensation was like little squeezing motions that seemed to be racing up my SPINE (hind-sight, it was probably my aorta spasms), gaining speed as they continued racing up and under my sternum (breast bone, where one presses rhythmically when administering CPR).

This fascinating process continued on into my throat and branched out into both jaws. ‘AHA!! NOW I stopped puzzling about what was happening — we all have read and/or heard about pain in the jaws being one of the signals of an MI happening, haven’t we? I said aloud to myself and the cat, Dear God, I think I’m having a heart attack!

I lowered the foot rest dumping the cat from my lap, started to take a step and fell on the floor instead. I thought to myself, If this is a heart attack, I shouldn’t be walking into the next room where the phone is or anywhere else… but, on the other hand, if I don’t, nobody will know that I need help, and if I wait any longer I may not be able to get up in a moment.

I pulled myself up with the arms of the chair, walked slowly into the next room and dialed the Paramedics… I told her I thought I was having a heart attack due to the pressure building under the sternum and radiating int o my jaws. I didn’t feel hysterical or afraid, just stating the facts. She said she was sending the Paramedics over immediately, asked if the front door was near to me, and if so, to un-bolt the door and then lie down on the floor where they could see me when they came in.

I unlocked the door and then lay down on the floor as instructed and lost consciousness, as I don’t remember the medics coming in, their examination, lifting me onto a gurney or getting me into their ambulance, or hearing the call they made to St. Jude ER on the way, but I did briefly awaken when we arrived and saw that the radiologist was already there in his surgical blues and cap, helping the medics pull my stretcher out of the ambulance. He was b ending over me asking questions (probably something like ‘Have you taken any medications?’) but I couldn’t make my mind interpret what he was saying, or form an answer, and nodded off again, not waking up until the Cardiologist and partner had already threaded the teeny angiogram balloon up my femoral artery into the aorta and into my heart where they installed 2 side by side stints to hold open my right coronary artery.
I know it sounds like all my thinking and actions at home must have taken at least 20-30 minutes before calling the paramedics, but actually it took perhaps 4-5 minutes before the call, and both the fire station and St. Jude are only minutes away from my home, and my Cardiologist was already to go to the OR in his scrubs and get going on restarting my heart (which had stopped somewhere between my arrival and the procedure) and installing the stints.
Why have I written all of this to you with so much detail? Because I want all of you who are so important in my life to know what I learned first hand.
1. Be aware that something very different is happening in your body, not the usual men’s symptoms but inexplicable things happening (until my sternum and jaws got into the act). It is said that many more women than men die of their first (and last) MI because they didn’t know they were having one and commonly mistake it as indigest ion, take some Maalox or other anti-heartburn preparation and go to bed, hoping they’ll feel better in the morning when they wake up… which doesn’t happen. My female friends, your symptoms might not be exactly like mine, so I advise you to call the Paramedics if ANYTHING is unpleasantly happening that you’ve not felt before. It is better to have a ‘false alarm’ visitation than to risk your life guessing what it might be!
2. Note that I said ‘Call the Paramedics.’ And if you can take an aspirin. Ladies, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!
Do NOT try to drive yourself to the ER – you are a hazard to others on the road.
Do NOT have your panicked husband who will be speeding and looking anxiously at what’s happening with you instead of the road.
Do NOT call your doctor — he doesn’t know where you live and if it’s at night you won’t reach him anyway, and if it’s daytime, his assistants (or answering service) will tell you to call the Paramedics. He doesn’t carry the equipment in his car that you need to be saved! The Paramedics do, principally OXYGEN that you need ASAP. Your Dr will be notified later.
3. Don’t assume it couldn’t be a heart attack because you have a normal cholesterol count. Research has discovered that a cholesterol elevate d reading is rarely the cause of an MI (unless it’s unbelievably high and/or accompanied by high blood pressure). MIs are usually caused by long-term stress and inflammation in the body, which dumps all sorts of deadly hormones into your system to sludge things up in there. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let’s be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

    Hi Joe Sir,

I didnt understand how to post as a new post under a new category.
So I am posting here itself.
I am married since 2 years but we dont have children till now. In the tests the result came as Azoospermia. For further analysis they did Doppler ultrasound scan and told that the testicles are small in size.

    Left – Measures 3.1X1.3X2.0 cms – volume 4.4 gms
    Right – Measures 2.6X1.2X2.1 cms – volume 3.5 gms

The Urologist prescribed some tablets for increasing the size of testicles. Usually as I prefer Homoepathy, I was searching whether there is any Homoeo medicine for that and reached here.

Please let me know whether there is any medicine in Homoeo for increasing testicle size and also suggest me which one is more effective in this case, Homoeopahty or Allopathy?

    Thanks in advance,
    Raghav

      Raghav

I regret to inform you that I am not aware of any remedy to increase the size of your testes.

You can however take Arnica 30c in the Wet dose twice daily and see if it helps you as it is not impossible that it may be able to make your sperm more motile.

You are advised to use this therapy for 6 months and see if it helps you.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Liquid pack in Alcohol, also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard at least 6 times before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this enhances the effect of the remedy on the user.

    Hi Joe,

My Husband is having chest pains and woke early hours in the morning this morning and sat in a chair until they went, he has been having these attacks more frequently and has been waiting now for 2 years for a scan still waiting. The Dr has gone as far as he can at the moment until we get the results from the scan who knows when that will be. He has had EEG test and has been checked out nothing is showing.

He has high blood pressure and started taking the Arnica in the wet dose now for 7 days.

Is their any thing you can suggest that he can do while we are waiting for this scan. If he takes another one to night I am going to call the ambulance and hope we can get him in to have this scan.

Thank you Joe for your help

It seems to me that Neil suffers from Angina which has not responded to the Arnica you have given him for the last week. This is not unusual as it usually takes about 2 months for the debris in his arteries to be filtered out by the Arnica which should be 30c potency in the Wet dose which you state you have given him. You can give it to him thrice daily for a month and reduce it down to twice daily for life.

You have also stated that he has Hypertension but you have not indicated his BP.
It is likely that it is the combination of both the arterial blockage by Cholesterol and Triglycerides that has resulted in his present condition and it is very likely that in the next few weeks, he will discover considerable relief when the Arnica takes over.

Please visit the link below on Arnica the Miracle Remedy

      http://www.joedelivera.com/?p=66

You can give him Nat Mur 200c in the Wet dose for his Hypertension and report his BP in 2 weeks.

    Hello Joe,

This is where Neil is at. When he goes for a walk or does too much exertion he gets an attack which is happening more frequently now.

When we go for a walk every time he starts to puff we stop and he has a little rest and then we carry on, doing that he did not have an attack.

He has been doing your instructions Arnica in the morning in the wet dose 3 X a day.

Should he just carry on doing that

    Thank you

Here again you are confusing me as your first ID for your husband was Neil and you are now using your own ID.
You must understand that I try to help many patients who are counting on my assistance and your multiple posts add to the confusion. Please post Neil’s problems as NEIL in future.

It seems to me that he will have to see a doctor and use the drugs that he will be prescribed for his Angina as his performance which you have related is not good and can even be dangerous in the event of a stroke.

He can continue to take the Arnica as prescribed but I fear that taking it today for a week or so is not going to help him in the short term.

I would like to have the following reports:
      ECG
Full Blood report for Lipid Profile to show the Cholesterol and Triglyceride levels
      Blood Pressure
      Blood Sugar
PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen). You will add this to his Blood Report.

Consult a doctor ASAP and report his diagnosis which you will appreciate I cannot do on my website.

How old is Neil and for how long has he suffered from his current problems”
What treatment has he taken for them?
      What is his weight

How old are you and for how long have you suffered from Asthma and other problems that you related in a previous post which I deleted?
      What is your weight?

    Hello Joe,

I am going to take Neil into the hospital and insist that he has the scan done which he has been waiting for for over 2 years now.

As soon as I find out what is going on I will let you know asap

    Neil has just turned 76

I apologize again to you, the last thing that I want to do is upset you please forgive me.

    thank you

  5. Neil says:

    Hello Joe,

I took Neil to the hospital and this is what the problem was, a blocked artery they have put a stent in.

    His medication

    Asprin 100mg 1 in morning
    Clopidogrte 75mg 1 in morning
Metroprolol CR 23.75mg 1 in morning
    Cilazapril 5mg 1 in morning
    Atorva\statin 40mg 1 nin morning
Glyceryl Trinitrate Spray 1 puff ifn needed
Pantoprazole 40 mg 1 in morning

    Cholesterol less than 4.6
    HDL cholesterol (good) 1.73
    LDL cvholesterol (bad) 2.4
    Triglycerides 1

I have no understanding of the cholesterol part wither it is good or not

their was no notes on his discharged papers saying about his blood pressure and nothing on the EEG
They told Neil it was fine when they discharged him and I don,t think they would have discharged him if it was,nt alright

    Thank you Joe
    Neil and Shirley

    • Joe says:

      Shirley

I am glad to learn that you took Neil to hospital and that they treated him by inserting a Stent into one of his Arteries which was blocked. It would be of interest to learn what his surgeon had listed as the percentage of the blockage. You can get this information from him as it is of interest in the future for Neil.

I note that he has been prescribed a plethora of drugs which of course is a standard part of the medical therapy where they do not consider whether any drug is necessary or otherwise for the patient as long as it keeps him happy.

I have copied your list on Google and you can read the reason for these drugs

Asprin 100mg 1 in morning Thin the blood
Clopidogrte 75mg 1 in morning Prevent clotting of blood
Metroprolol CR 23.75mg 1 in morning Hypertension
Cilazapril 5mg 1 in morning Hypertension
      Atorva\statin 40mg 1 nin morning Cholesterol
Glyceryl Trinitrate Spray TNT to treat Angina pain
Pantoprazole 40 mg 1 in morning PPI drug to reduce gastric acidity.

I would request you to check each drug on Google and read for yourself the reasons for these drugs being prescribed for Neil. I would advice that he uses them for a short period and then change over to just 2 Homeopathic remedies which will replace all these drugs without causing him any negative after effects:

Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken thrice daily
      This remedy will:

      Thin the Blood
      Prevent clotting
      Will reduce Blood Pressure
      Will eliminate Angina

Nat Phos 6x dose 3 tablets taken thrice daily after meals.
      This remedy will:
Accelerate the passage of food down the gut thereby preventing Hyperacidity.

I have treated many hundreds of patients with these 2 Homeopathic remedies and am simply amazed at their response after about 3 months when their Blood Lipid Profiles are compared before and after this therapy. I do wish that other Homeopaths and Medical doctors will also use this same simple and absolutely cheap therapy and check their Lipid Profile in 3 months after using Arnica 30c in the Wet dose that I have personally used since 1996 up to last night.

I have amassed sufficient evidence to conclude that anyone who takes Arnica 30c will bring his Cholesterol and Triglycerides down to normal levels which in Neil’s case were the primary cause of his Angina which would never have occurred if he had used this remedy about 6 months ago.

  6. Neil says:

    Hello Joe,

Th ank you for that, yes I did google these drugs and I found that some of the do the same thing, interesting. I for one want to get him of
    these drugs as soon as.

Have you had any body go of the drugs after they have had a stent put in

I agree I found you just to late for this not to have happened.

Can you tell me please is coconut oil fine for Neil to take, they say he can use any other oil but coconut, now I find that really strange as all that I know about coconut oil is that it is better than any other oils out their and we have been using for a good 6 months. I am a little concerned whether to continue to use it for Neil.

    thank you Joe
    Neil and Shirley

    • Joe says:

      Shirley

I have been treating a few patients who have had Angioplasty and also Bypass
surgery who are completely off all drugs and only use my Arnica/Nat Phos therapy. They will of course have to take it for life.

As I mentioned in a previous post it will not do to stop the current basket of drugs Neil is taking for a few weeks but he should take the 2 remedies I have prescribed concurrently and this will give him the confidence to stop the drugs and change over to my Joepathy exclusively.

It was only last evening that a patient who is 3 years my junior met me and presented his Lipid Profile levels which he had done a few days ago at my request. They were startling when compared to what they were 6 months ago. His Cholesterol and Triglyceride levels were BELOW normal levels in comparison to what they were originally as they had dropped in a manner that is not short of miraculous. I do not think that all the drugs used in medicine today can possibly equate this drop and what is more is that my Joepathy does not have the slightest after effects that all drugs do.

It is this message that I seek to promote to those who are already suffering from the same blockage of their arteries like Neil who have only had a temporary respite of their problem which will invariably recur if the patient does not change his lifestyle by avoiding fatty food and exercises regularly as I do daily for about 45 minutes at home. I have conclusively proved that it is not only the exercise that is necessary but that it is more the quality thereof that is relevant.

My Exercise Cycle is a True and it has a Heart Monitor which I use to lift my Heart rate to between 110-115 BPM daily when I pedal on almost full tension to ensure that I sweat. I have lifted my BPM to 130 but do not do so other than on test conditions and am surprised that at my advanced age of 83, I can still do so comfortably. I do breathe hard and sweat profusely but I do not experience any distress like pain or other indications that I am over doing my exercise routine. It must be mentioned that I have been doing this routine for the last 20 years and this is proof of my “practicing what I preach”.

Answering your question about Coconut oil, I believe that it is the best by far and you can do some reading on Google to verify how it does help.

  7. Neil says:

    Dearest Joe,

Thank you for that, you have given me hope that Neil will get off these drugs which I must admit scare the willy’s out of me. You are right neither of us at this time have the confidence for him to not take the drugs for the moment, thank you for your understanding on this

Just to double check this with you, as you know Neil is taking blood thining tabs and the Arnica is doing the same, by taking the arnica with the thinning tabs it will not thin is blood out too much will it.?
even though I know the arnica purify’s the blood.

One other thing in the Ayurveda cooking they always say to put a tablsp of Gee in to cook the spices for a couple of minuetes, I have changed to Coconut oil as I am not sure whether the Gee is all that good for you, yummy yes please give me your thoughts on this and if not how would one apply the spices as we do love Indian food

Answer to your question in e mail ………we live in New Zealand and no we do not have health insurance it is very expensive here. We had to go through the public health system that is why it took so long as he was on the waiting list for over 2 years. It was just your post that made me take the action that I did and told them we were not going to leave here until he had these tests done even if it means we have to sit on the floor for how ever long it takes until somebody does some thingl. They really got that and that was when it all started to happen for him. Some times you just have to be strong we are very patient really but we were talking about Neils life here.
Our health system used to be the best in the world at one time now the only time you can get in the hospital is by calling an ambulance, sad but true.

Take care Joe and please know that you are appreciated very much

Thank you for this wonderful website.
Is your “wet dose” basically the same as the LM potency of the dry pellets? If not the same, how is it different?
    Thanks.
