Hello,
I have an 8 weeks old daughter who suffers from silent reflux. I feed her about 3 ounces of formula with added cereal as per suggested by her pediatrician about every 3-4 hours. She cries after ever ounce when I stop to burp her and continues to cry after the feeding. My biggest issue is that she does not sleep no matter how tired because she is constantly jerking her arms and legs and sucking on her hands.
Initially the doctors prescribed Zantac which seemed to work initially but eventually stopped. I came across Nat Phos 6x and decided to give it a try. She’s also been taking probiotics for almost a month.
When I first started the Nat Phos 6x regimen I started with a half tablet after every feed. I noticed no difference so I upped it to 1 tablet. I noticed no difference in behavior after 3 days so I stopped and went back to the Zantac. Of course, this also didn’t help and after a week I tried Nat Phos 6x again.
On Sunday I started with a full tablet after every feed. On Monday she seemed improved. On Tuesday her symptoms reappeared full force. I read in other places that days 2 and 3 are the worst. I continued through Wednesday and on Thursday she seemed improved again until Thursday night when she would not sleep. Today, Friday which is the 5th day she is still worse. Arches her back, more frequent hiccups and less sleep. I caved and gave her a dose of Zantac and she is currently asleep on my shoulder as I type this.
I do not want to go back to prescribed medication but I do not know what else to do. My exact Nat Phos 6x dosage was to dissolve 1 tablet in 1ml of water administered via syringe after every feed.
Please advise as to what, if anything, I can do.
Thank you.

To give an infant of just 8 weeks solids is CRIMINAL.
” I feed her about 3 ounces of formula with added cereal as per suggested by her pediatrician about every 3-4 hours.”
To state that I am SHOCKED is an understatement.
STOP THE CEREAL and all will be well.
Your pediatrician must be exposed for the FRAUD he is and I presume that he has qualified in medicine. You must complain to the Medical board in your city for this FOOL prescribing cereal for an infant only 8 weeks old.
He obviously is not aware that a baby’s digestion is NOT DESIGNED to process cereal, or any solid till baby is over 8 months of age.
You must consider yourself as very fortunate that you located my Website and I note from your email IP that you live in Washington where your Medical Board is very strict and will even cancel his license to practice.
I note that you have followed my therapy but I shall copy my default therapy below for Baby GERD:
I shall copy my default therapy for Baby GERD which I have prescribed for hundreds of babies and which I hope will help your baby too.
The remedy is Nat Phos 6x which is a Biochemic Cell Salt and is NOT a drug. It is absolutely safe in use and you may like to look it up on Google.
You will give baby half a tablet dissolved in milk a few minutes before every feed and the balance half immediately after a feed but you will not exceed a total of 6 tablets (12 halves) in 24 hours.
You may like to try to reduce the quantity of milk you give for each feed to enable baby’s digestion to stabilize. You will however feed more often. It is essential that you burp baby immediately after every feed.
You will avoid eating all food that can cause any distress to baby. You must know that they are passed on to baby through your breast milk.
It is best not to vaccinate Baby till s/he is over 2 years old as the after effects in some cases can add to the problems with GERD.
Do not give the MMR Vaccine in One shot as there is plenty of evidence on the Web of severe side effects which can result. You are advised to give it in 3 separate shots if you must do so, after baby is 2 years old.
Do not give Baby any solid food till s/he is over 8 months of age.
You (the mother) will take Nat Phos 6x dose 2 tablets after each of 3 meals daily. The idea is that your milk will pass the effect to baby. You may like to know that Nat Phos 6x will help to reduce your weight by 1kg per week very safely.
Report progress in 24 hours and as often as you wish on this thread.
If you discover that baby does not respond to the Nat Phos 6x alone and this has occurred in a few cases, you will contact me again and I shall then prescribe another remedy to reinforce the action of Nat Phos 6x.
You will stop all other drugs you may be giving baby if you start on my therapy.
